Data Analytics Engineer, Food & Beverage (gn) - Hybrid in Barcelona, Spain

We are looking for you as Data Analytics Engineer (DAE, gn) to offer full-time functional & technical support to a client which is rolling out our process data analytics platform globally . The client in question is a large, leading multinational food and drink processing conglomerate in Barcelona, Spain . The position is available on a full-time basis at the earliest possible starting date .

You will be part of the Customer Success team within TrendMiner, but will be dedicated to supporting this single customer full-time. As such, you will work predominantly from the customer’s headquarters in Barcelona. To support the global operations of this customer, you may expect a signficant amount of travel, to production sites both within Europe as globally. Your mission will to ensure our client gets a high return on their investment in the TrendMiner platform.

Our client’s international presence will take you around the world to support production sites and interact with TrendMiner users and key stakeholders. At times, you can expect to be traveling up to 25% of the time .

To ensure a successful onboarding and to kickstart your journey, you will be invited to our headquarters in Hasselt, Belgium for an initial training period (+- 4 weeks). As a part of TrendMiner’s CS team, you will also be invited to join special team events, training offerings etc.

Your Role

• Through an affinity with technology and special interest in data analytics, you quickly gain a deep understanding of our platform to serve as a functional expert to our client .
• You implement and roll out custom solution packages on top of TrendMiner using Python . These custom packages offer additional functionalities specific to the needs of our client’s different business units.
• You work on data analytics use cases for our client . Using your general understanding of food & beverage industry, you can efficiently work together with experts on the customer side to achieve the desired outcome using TrendMiner. During this process, you take special care to transfer part of your TrendMiner knowledge onto the customer, making the more self-sufficient.
• You provide dedicated trainings for TrendMiner users, tailored to the specific needs of a specific production site or business unit.
• You work on developing data models and integrating different data sources and applications (process historians, relational databases, BI tools etc.) with the TrendMiner platform.
• You work together with the customer’s user base and our technical support team to provide first-line support on technical issues .
• You build up intimate knowledge of how this customer uses TrendMiner to achieve value, which enables you to serve as the voice of the customer within our company, helping direct further product development.

Your Skills

• Degree relevant Engineering discipline (Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Computer Science, …)
• Experience with Python for scripting and data analytics
• Experience with writing SQL queries
• Affinity with analytics, preferably in the Food & Beverage industry
• Proactive and independent worker
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in other European languages (such as Spanish) is a plus
