NextPort's product portfolio assists ports and terminals in generating value from their existing data sources and facilitates operational and strategic investments for their various stakeholders.

The company is currently seeking a Data Analyst Engineer to join its team at either its Valencia or Algeciras office. As a member of the Data Science Group, the Data Analyst will play a critical role in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that support business decisions and optimize operations. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and stakeholders to ensure data quality and data understanding, excerpting effective insights, and integrating diverse data sources into the company’s analytics ecosystem.

This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative data-driven and AI-driven projects in logistics and port operations, bridging the gap between raw data and actionable insights, empowering the organization to make data-driven decisions efficiently.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Collect data from various sources (databases, APIs, files) and ensure it is clean, structured and ready for analysis
• Use statistical and analytical methods to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in multiple datasets
• Create visualizations such as reports, charts, and dashboards to effectively communicate findings using tools like PowerBI
• Perform ad-hoc analyses specific business questions or support decision-making
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into actionable insights
• Keep up with emerging trends and technologies in data analytics to continuously improve tools and methodologies and train members and stakeholders to effectively use BU tools and interpret visualizations
• This is a hybrid role, and applicants need to reside in either Valencia or Algeciras, ES

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field, i.e., mathematics, computer science
• Proven 1+ years of experience as data analyst with Python for data manipulation and analysis
• Domain of data warehousing solutions both relational and non-relational DDBB
• Ability to write SQL queries for data extraction and analysis
• Experience with Azure Cloud Solutions and Azure Data Lake Storage
• Experience designing and creating reports with PowerBI
• Knowledge of Kafka and data ingestion from topics
• Familiarity with predictive models and forecasting techniques
• Wide mental outlook and analytical thinking
• Experience working with large datasets or big data platforms is a plus. Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments and with external partners.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, capable of managing changing priorities and new technologies.
• Empathy and understanding of customers need to develop solutions that provide value and improve user experience

Desirable:

• Prior work in logistics and port operations industries
• Experience with the end-to-end BI project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to delivery
• Experience in agile methodologies and related tools like Jira

Working conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
