Our mission is to build the world’s most sustainable food supply chain, ensuring that farmers receive a fair price for their work and that consumers enjoy fresh produce that travels 75% less time than those found in supermarkets.

Since our launch in 2017, we have grown to collaborate with more than 300 farmers across Europe, bringing organic and regenerative farming closer to thousands of consumers.

We are currently seeking a Data and Application Engineer to join our Data team, based in Madrid, Spain.

In this role, you will combine your technical expertise with a product and business mindset to deliver data-powered solutions that drive decision-making and innovation across Crowdfarming.

You’ll work closely with different business units to understand their needs, surface opportunities, and build tools and applications that generate real impact.

This is a cross-functional role: part data engineer, part application developer, and part business partner. You’ll play a key role in translating complex challenges into scalable, data-driven solutions that help us move faster and smarter.

Your responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Finance & People Business Unit to identify opportunities and co-create solutions that streamline processes and unlock insights.
• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines using Python, PySpark, TypeScript and related technologies.
• Explore and implement AI use cases through prompt engineering and LLM interaction optimization.
• Develop and deliver operational applications that solve concrete business problems and improve efficiency.
• Track the impact of what you build, and continuously refine your work to maximize business value and user experience.
• Uphold data quality, integrity, and security across all stages of the data lifecycle.
• Act as a data and AI advocate within the company: help demystify complex topics, inspire curiosity, and support a data-informed culture.
• Stay on top of industry trends and emerging tools related to data, AI, and application development.
• Proactively identify areas where data and AI can unlock value — from automating repetitive tasks to revealing hidden insights.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
• Fluency in english.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, business analytics or application development roles
• Proficient in coding languages like SQL, PySpark, TypeScript, and prompt engineering.
• Experience in developing and maintaining production-level data pipelines and operational applications.
• Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills — you enjoy working with non-technical stakeholders and making complex things simple.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• A passion for sustainable agriculture and the food supply chain is a plus.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry is a plus.
