Alstom in Madrid seeks an ISM Software Architect to design and develop software architectures for critical rail systems, ensuring safety, security, and reliability.

You will lead tenders, define governance, and collaborate with international teams across engineering and product development to deliver robust solutions for rail cybersecurity and signaling.

Formación

• Experience in software architecture and product integration.
• Strong knowledge of tenders and system definition.
• Strong knowledge of security systems (CCTV, streaming protocols, SIP, VoIP, Public Address, etc.).
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed and cross-functional teams.
• Agile mindset with international orientation.

Responsabilidades

• To lead tenders to ensure consistency between the tender development needs and the programs development roadmap, identifying and managing gaps when applicable.
• Support the Tendering team to ensure correct technical governance is applied (design input, architecture standards, methodologies, processes, tools) against which programs can deliver.
• Review CbC and propose the technical solution including requirements compliance, functional fit, technological capability, cost and delivery capability.
• Propose technological solutions on Security based on standard protocols and cyber/obsolescence compliance.
• Maintain view of industry standards and domain technical watch to guide orientation with market trends.
• Provide pre-tendering support regarding opportunities where the solution may not exist in the portfolio.
• Strong link with Security Solution within Systems & Turnkey Platform and ICC Solution within Urban Platform to promote Make (ISM+SIM within ICC New Generation) for opportunities.
• Strong link with ICC Design Authority and CONCERTO Design Authority to align DC development strategy with ICC New Generation and CONCERTO platform.
• Assess feasibility of proposed solutions (performance, delivery model, organizational fit) and propose mitigation plans.
• Engage with projects to ensure tender technical risks are identified and managed.
• Promote and chair decision-making meetings for component selection or technical decisions for tenders.
• Ensure implementation of generic products and systems by multi-program synergies to optimize cost of solutions.
• Propose technical innovation and roadmap development in response to tender strategy and portfolio optimization.

Your role, your impact

• To lead tenders to ensure consistency between the tender development needs and the programs development roadmap, identifying and managing the gaps estimation when it is applicable
• Support the Tendering team to ensure that the correct technical governance is being applied (e.g. suitable design and expert input, defining and enforcing architecture/métier standards, methodologies, processes, tools and solution frameworks against which programs and projects can deliver) – focusing inwardly on the internal consistency; and outwardly on its coherence with other solutions/métiers and standards.
• Review CbC and propose the technical solution, covering areas such as the definition of requirements compliance, functional fit, technological capability, cost, and delivery capability
• Propose technological solution on Security based on standard protocols and cyber and obsolescence compliance
• Maintain view of industry and standards, and domain technical watch to guide orientation with market trends.
• Provide pre-tendering support regarding business opportunities where expected solution does not exist in current portfolio.
• Strong link with Security Solution within Systems&Turnkey Platform and ICC Solution within Urban Platform to promote Make (ISM+SIM within ICC New Generation) for given opportunities
• Strong link with ICC Design Authority and CONCERTO Design Authority to secure the alignment of the DC development strategy (ISM+SIM) with the ICC New Generation and CONCERTO platform
• Assess the feasibility of the proposed solution (performance, delivery model and organizational fit), and propose mitigation plans
• Engages with projects/programs to ensure tender technical risks are being identified and managed
• Promote and chair Decision Making meetings to secure right component selection or technical decisions for tenders
• Ensure the implementation of generic products and systems by multi-program synergies in order to optimize cost of technical solutions.
• Propose technical innovation and roadmap development as required in answer to the business tender strategy of ISM+SIM field, with a constant preoccupation to make optimization on the company portfolio and internal processes.
• Participate proactively with ICC Design Authority community sharing experince and providing/requiring support when needed

You’ll work with multidisciplinary, international teams across engineering and product development - solving complex challenges in rail security and digital systems.
