Senior Performance Engineer (JVM & Java Optimisation) | Relocate to Abu Dhabi ??

Join our client—an innovator in the Cyber Security industry—at the heart of the UAE’s thriving tech ecosystem, a region known for rapid innovation, a vibrant engineering community, and fast-growing opportunities.

Our client is hiring a Senior Performance Engineer (JVM & Java Optimisation) to take ownership of performance optimisation across a containerised, Java-based microservices architecture running at scale in the cloud. You’ll be the go-to expert for JVM tuning, Spring Boot optimisation, database performance,



and container orchestration—ensuring low latency and high efficiency on critical systems.

What you’ll be working on:

- End-to-end performance tuning for Java microservices in Kubernetes
- JVM Optimisation (GC, threading, memory allocation)
- Spring Boot profiling & tuning (reactive streams, caching, thread pools)
- SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory DB performance (PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB)
- Performance testing with JMeter, k6
- Observability using JFR, JVisualVM, OpenTelemetry
- Container Orchestration tuning (Autoscaling, CPU/mem limits, KEDA, Istio)
- Optimising event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Building CI-integrated performance testing frameworks

Requirements:

- 7+ years of experience
- Proven expertise in JVM, Java, and Spring Boot optimisation
- Hands-on Kubernetes performance tuning in production environments
- Cloud-native experience and CI/CD performance testing integration
- Proficiency with profiling & monitoring tools (e.g., YourKit, JProfiler, Zipkin)
- Comfortable operating as an Individual Contributor
