Job Description :

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Customs and Trade Compliance Lead (m / f) for Iberia, you will manage import and export operations daily and oversee all Trade Compliance activities for Spain and Portugal. You will coordinate with Regional and Central Trade compliance teams, ensuring adherence to legal, customs, and trade compliance regulations within the 3M group. Your responsibilities include meeting deadlines to support logistics and business activities while managing costs. You will report to the South Europe Trade Compliance Lead.

Here, you will make an impact by :

• Leading customs clearance activities for import, export, and transits via air, sea, and road shipments.
• Developing lean processes to ensure compliance with import and export customs regulations.
• Managing documentation related to sanitary certificates, origin certificates, and other customs-required documents.
• Maintaining good communication and professional relationships with local customs authorities.
• Monitoring regulatory changes and implementing necessary policy and procedure updates.
• Implementing company strategies related to trade compliance and process improvements to achieve Agreed Economic Operator status.
• Collaborating with the (regional) Export Control Coordinator to ensure compliance with export control regulations, including screening, licensing, anti-boycott measures, reporting, embargoes, and sanctions.
• Acting as an ambassador for Trade compliance across the Iberia region.

Your Skills and Expertise

To succeed in this role from day one, 3M seeks candidates who meet these minimum requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in international transport, commerce, logistics, or supply chain from an accredited institution.
• Relevant experience in customs clearing activities within Iberia.
• Proficiency in Office Suite, Excel, customs SAP GTS, TARIC, or similar customs tools.
• Growth mindset and collaborative attitude.
• Strong communication skills with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, managing challenging and stressful situations.

Additional skills or qualifications that could enhance your success include :

• Customs clearance certifications, additional credentials in duty calculation and taxes.
• Knowledge of Portuguese and French.
• Self-motivated and an agile learner.
• Structured approach to work.

Job specifics :

• Location: 3M Spain, Rivas.
• Travel: Up to 10% expected.
• Role: Hybrid, full-time.
