Corporate Strategy – Market Research Lead

Supports the Head of Corporate Strategy in providing rigorous, deep, and ground-up market data analysis to facilitate key decision-making at the executive committee level.

The role plays a pivotal part in raising the company's standards by providing a deep understanding of ecosystem markets through the "Market Center of Excellence" (Market Lighthouse). This includes building and regularly updating market models for key ecosystem products (e.g., Accommodation, M&E) with analysis outcomes to serve as the reference point for market data across the organization, including updates on industry trends, market news, and the competitive landscape (including quarterly reporting reflections).

The position also supports the Strategy Planning Program by fostering collaboration between Commercial Strategy, Finance, Budget & Forecasting, and Commercial Planning & Performance functions. It ensures ownership, accountability, and achievement of key milestones to deliver the Strategic Plan (e.g., 3-Year Plan).

Responsibilities :

  • Developing Market Lighthouse “Centre of Excellence” reports through continuous market assessment of trends, company results, threats, and opportunities impacting the business. This includes building proprietary ecosystem market models to understand market size, growth, and key trends, with macroeconomic correlation analysis for accurate industry growth forecasts.
  • Conducting primary research via quarterly analyses of major travel companies, external data sources (e.g., Euromonitor, PW, Bank research), internal stakeholders (Sales, Sourcing, Product), and attending major trade conferences.
  • Developing competitive landscape reports to understand key competitors' strategies, sizes, growth, and profitability to enable strategic and commercial actions.
  • Sharing weekly key stock market highlights with Executive Committee, Board, and investors.

Enables the definition of HBX Group strategy by supporting the annual Strategic Planning Process through:

  • Strategic Fact-base: Identifying key internal/external issues and opportunities through deep analysis of market trends, competitors, and HBX performance.
  • Key Strategy Pillars: Selecting strategic objectives with senior management to define initiatives.
  • Strategy Planning Framework: Establishing standards and cross-functional collaboration to deliver strategic initiatives, including financial quantification and setting clear, measurable strategic goals.

Skills :

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to drive strategic decisions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, creative thinking, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong financial acumen, understanding financial principles and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent presentation skills to synthesize complex topics into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Good judgment for timely and sound decision-making.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior internal stakeholders.

Experience : Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in market research/analysis within a Strategy Consulting firm or at global organizations.

Qualifications : Degree in Management, Engineering, or related fields.
