Descripción del empleo

The Corporate Strategy – Market Research Lead supports the Head of Corporate Strategy by providing rigorous, ground-up market data analysis through continuous assessment to facilitate key decision-making at the executive level.

This role significantly contributes to raising the company's standards by providing a deep understanding of ecosystem markets via the "Market Center of Excellence" (Market Lighthouse). It involves building and updating market models for key ecosystem products (e.g., Accommodation, M&E) and materials, with analysis outcomes serving as the reference point for market data across the organization, including updates on industry trends, market news, and competitive landscape (including Q-reporting reflections).

The position also supports the Strategy Planning Program by fostering collaboration between Commercial Strategy, Finance (Budget & Forecasting), and Commercial Planning & Performance functions, ensuring ownership, accountability, and milestone delivery for the Strategic Plan (e.g., 3YP).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop Market Lighthouse "Centre of Excellence" reports through continuous assessment of market trends, company results, threats, and opportunities impacting the business.
  • Build internal proprietary Ecosystem Market models to understand market size, growth, and key trends, including macroeconomic correlation analysis for accurate travel industry growth forecasts.
  • Conduct primary research via quarterly analysis of key travel companies, external data providers (e.g., Euromonitor, PW, Bank research), internal stakeholders, and trade conferences.
  • Develop competitive landscape reports to understand competitors' strategic goals, size, growth, and profitability, enabling strategic and commercial actions.
  • Share weekly market highlights with Exco, Board, and investors.

Support the definition of HBX group strategy through the annual Strategic Planning Process by:

  • Creating a strategic fact-base by analyzing market trends, competitors, and HBX performance to identify key issues and opportunities.
  • Defining key strategic pillars and objectives in collaboration with senior management to guide initiatives.
  • Establishing a Strategy Planning framework that standardizes quality and promotes cross-team collaboration, leading to a clear, quantifiable strategic plan supported by P&L drivers and resource estimates.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation for strategic decision-making.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, creative thinking, and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Solid financial acumen, including understanding of financial principles and budgeting.
  • Excellent presentation skills to synthesize complex topics into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Good judgment for timely and sound decision-making.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior internal stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in market research/analysis and insight synthesis within Strategy Consulting firms or global organizations.

Qualifications:
