Job Description :

Based in Madrid but with full international exposure, you will work in a highly dynamic, inspiring, and challenging environment as a key member of our Corporate Development & Strategy team.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of six professionals led by the Group COO and work closely with Alantra's top management, including the Executive Chairman & CEO.

Your daily tasks will include a wide range of activities, among others:

  1. Corporate development (in-house M&A team): assisting the team in all types of transactions (acquisitions, capital increases, JVs, etc., with over 30 deals analyzed/executed in 2022). You will analyze companies, draft and review documents such as proposals, IMs, financial models, due diligence reports, and legal contracts. You will also support senior team members in meetings, deal negotiations, valuation, and transaction structuring.
  2. Strategy: presenting analysis and preparing presentations for senior management (Board of Directors and Executive Committees). Conducting business and financial analyses of different business units, including KPIs and performance metrics.
  3. Investor relations: attending events and roadshows with investors, preparing results presentations, and materials for roadshows.

You should possess exceptional financial modeling and writing skills, solid experience in financial statement analysis, accounting, and familiarity with legal documents such as NDAs, LOIs, MoUs, SHAs, and SPAs. Outstanding communication and people management skills are essential.

You will also act as a role model to junior team members through coaching and training, and be capable of organizing junior resources to meet deadlines while prioritizing effectively.

Requirements :
  • 5-3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, management consulting, or transaction services from tier 1 firms. The professional level will be based on experience.
  • Strong academic background from top-tier Business or Engineering schools.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation methodologies, with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Ability to digest large, complex information and demonstrate strategic and creative thinking.
  • Excellent teamwork and inclusivity skills, with the ability to lead workstreams independently within broader projects.
  • Rigorous, detail-oriented, and proactive attitude, capable of making decisions and showing initiative.
  • Highest standards of professional conduct, performance, and ethics.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); fluency in Spanish is not mandatory.
  • Strong interest in the financial industry and an investor mindset.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing situations.
  • Creativity, curiosity, and a passion for intellectual challenges.
  • Deep financial knowledge, including P&L, BS, and CF statements.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Required Experience :

Additional key skills include laboratory experience, aseptic technique, mammalian cell culture, fundraising, conflict management, and familiarity with tools like Salesforce, gCMP, and grant writing, among others.
