What are we looking for?

The Corporate Accountant is primarily responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, related postings in the sub-ledger and general ledger, as well as other accounting tasks as required under the guidance of the Accounting Manager.

This role is a key member of the accounting team and acts as the second-level check in the corporate control system. The individual must ensure purchasing processes and approvals are followed, maintaining data integrity including line coding, vendor/customer setup, and payment processing. A general knowledge of full cycle accounting is required.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of all transactions.
  2. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory filings and internal reporting.
  3. Maintain and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable records.
  4. Assist in maintaining vendor files, including vendor terms and contact details.
  5. Support the Accounting Manager with closing the monthly management accounts in line with group policies and timetable.
  6. Perform regular (monthly) Balance Sheet reviews.
  7. Prepare the Weekly Cash report.
  8. Provide support to ensure departmental goals and requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  9. Maintain department files and databases as appropriate.
  10. Support the Accounting Manager with local (Spanish) and group-related tax matters.
Requirements
  1. University degree in Accounting (preferably from a Spanish university) and/or at least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  2. Previous managerial experience is a plus.
  3. Advanced business English skills, both oral and written; Spanish skills are a great plus.
  4. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Excellent communication, organizational, and proactive skills, with attention to detail.
  6. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  7. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
  8. Knowledge of IFRS (SMEs) is a plus.
