n8n is seeking a Staff Architect to shape and evolve the core platform architecture powering execution, infrastructure and frontend platforms. You will guide two Core Platform teams, ensuring scalable, configurable foundations for 80+ engineers and an active open-source community.

You’ll own architectural direction, mentor engineers, and craft durable platform interfaces and contracts in a remote-first, international context.

Formación

• Staff-level architectural ownership across multiple systems or teams.
• Strong systems thinking with invariants, correctness and trade-offs.
• Experience designing highly configurable, scalable platforms.
• Proven distributed systems experience: async processing, idempotency, state machines, queues.
• Data architecture focus: persistence, migrations, scalability, reliability.
• Deep TypeScript and Node.js backend experience beyond CRUD.
• Ability to lead across teams via RFCs, reviews and mentorship.
• Interest in platform contracts, abstractions and developer experience.
• Comfort with long-horizon migrations and modularization.

Responsabilidades

• Shape core platform architecture for execution, infrastructure and frontend integration.
• Drive architecture across Core Platform teams to ensure coherent evolution.
• Design scalable backends, adaptable to workloads and deployment models.
• Partner with FE platform on canvas architecture and real-time features.
• Lead technical decisions via proposals and RFCs, aligning teams.
