Responsibilities
Your main functions will be:
- Experience in cooking and is willing to support from the Chef to other colleagues in the kitchen.
- Prepare lunches and dinners, monitor stock of products, and ensure dishes are of the highest quality.
- Oversee washing, cutting vegetables, cleaning, preparing snacks or dishes, mise en place.
- Assist the head chef or be responsible for your own section in the kitchen.
- Operate under pressure at certain times and maintain hygiene as a priority.
Qualifications
- Intermediate or Upper-intermediate (B1-B2) level of English.
- Studies in Gastronomy.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the gastronomy sector.
What you get
- Contract through Dutch collective agreement. Salary from 13€ to 15,50€ gross per hour (+ 21 years old). From 2,140€ to 2,550€ gross per month. TIPS: 300€ net.
- Weekly salary payments.
- Accommodation in a sharing housing organized by the hotel/restaurant/establishment at a low cost (around 55€ - 65€ per week), always close to the workplace.
- Minimum 2 meals included during work hours.
- Workweeks average min. 35 and max. 60 hours (high season typically >40 hours per week).
- The working schedule provided by the restaurant/hotel.
- Subsidized health insurance organized by partners at reduced rate (€33.50 per week).
- On the island you can rent a bicycle relatively cheaply or the establishment can provide one.
- Boat ticket paid by Job Adventure’s partners in the Netherlands.
- 8% holiday allowance.
- Help and assistance in Spanish throughout the process: communication, interviews, and information.
Notes
A hostel night may be provided in Groningen. The following day colleagues may stay to manage your BSN number at the city hall.
