The Role

We are looking for a freelance/contractor Platform Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer to join our team and help our clients on specific projects like a migration to the cloud, supporting a team of Software Craftspeople and setting up CI/CD pipelines or others!

This role would suit someone who has:

1. Experience building out scalable and automated cloud platforms, preferably on AWS (or Azure)
2. Experience with provisioning and supporting cloud infrastructure, using infrastructure as code and CI/CD, using tools such as Terraform, ARM (Azure Resource Manager) or CloudFormation (AWS)
3. Experience with containerization technology and various orchestration platforms e.g. Docker, Kubernetes
4. Worked with external partners on requirements and designs that scale and are delivered on time
5. Experience with ELK or BeeHive or similar (Grafana, Graphite)
6. Knowledge of logging and monitoring (preferably New Relic)
7. Strong foundations in service observability and service design
8. Strong commitment to doing things in a sustainable and secure way

It would be a bonus if you have:

1. Experience in provisioning tools such as Ansible/Puppet/Chef
2. Basic programming language knowledge in order to provide tooling (Python, Bash, PowerShell etc)
3. Run performance and load tests at scale, and are able to forecast capacity for the future
4. Knowledge and interest in working with security practices (SAST), secret management
