Content Design at Preply:

Content Design is a small but mighty discipline embedded in the Design Chapter. You’ll lead a team of 2-3 content designers, and be tasked with growing and upskilling the team. You’ll partner with design, product, and brand leads to plan work and build a shared vision. And you’ll report to our Design Director, who will help guide you and set you up for success.

We care deeply about creating a safe and inclusive space. So we’ll be looking for you to share a vision for how our content designers can develop and thrive.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing a team of content designers, from recruiting, resourcing, and prioritizing work, to leading rituals and mentoring
• Creating processes and guidelines that level up our efficiency, quality, and impact
• Running crits, workshops, and training sessions that help our content designers improve their craft
• Taking a birds-eye view of content at Preply, prioritizing the right problems to solve, removing blockers, and spotting opportunities for your team to have impact
• Partnering with design, brand, and product leads to define and achieve business goals and build a vision for language at Preply

What you need to succeed:

• 5+ years of experience managing a team of content designers in a start-up or scale-up environment
• 3+ years of experience in content operations, including resourcing teams, prioritizing content work, and building processes
• Solid expertise in content design for global products, and a portfolio to prove it
• A proven track record of teaching and advocating for content design
• A vision for how content design can add value for users and tangible ROI for the business
• Experience contributing content design skills to product planning

This role probably isn’t the right fit for you if:

• Your experience is mostly in copywriting, marketing or advertising-style writing, or journalism — we need someone who specializes in product writing
• You prefer to be in the weeds, writing content daily — this is a leadership role
