Job summary

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) in Madrid offers a Summer Intern Programme of 11 weeks, giving you the chance to work on BAU tasks and a capstone project, while developing data-driven insights for clients across payments and strategy.

You will learn from a seasoned team, access Visa University training, and participate in mentoring and coaching. Successful interns may receive a graduate offer to join Visa after graduation.

Qualifications

• Penultimate year of university; education will be complete in summer 2028.
• Full, permanent, right to work in Spain. Visa will not provide sponsorship for this role.
• Professional fluency in English and Spanish is required.
• Interest in technology and the payments industry.
• Curious and proactive attitude with demonstrated initiative.

Job Description

Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) teams are focused in helping key clients that include global banks and retailers and other merchants, as well as local FinTechs and governments. Our goal is to help clients solve strategic payment challenges and identify opportunities by supporting in benchmarking, ideation, definition, implementation and monitoring of recommendations.

Resulting in our clients receiving end-to-end support that help them achieve scale, competitive advantage, and speed to market in the digital age. Exemplary projects:

• How can a retail bank drive activation and usage of payment solutions (e.g., cards) in specific customer segments?
• How can an airline build and enhance its payment value proposition for consumers and/or small businesses?
• How can a credit card issuer use emerging technologies like open banking to acquire new customers?
• How can an acquirer or merchant better understand customer loyalty?

VCA engages clients throughout Europe and is organised in teams within, UK & Ireland, South Europe, FBL, Nordics & Baltics, Central Eastern Europe, and Central Europe

Day to day responsibilities of an Intern Consultant:

• Help drive business insights with data gathering and market trend analysis thanks to our superb data analytics powered by Visa data.
• Support the VCA team in the delivery of projects for Internal Visa projects and clients across various domains, from payments, digital, products to strategy.
• Develop, with assistance from your manager, VCA project deliverables (based in PowerPoint, excel, etc.) for assigned clients.

• Work alongside an experienced and dynamic team, as well as top clients, expanding your knowledge in the payments sector and our consulting practices.

Visa's Summer Intern Programme

Our Summer Internship is an 11-week programme providing you the opportunity to experience all that Visa has to offer alongside completing challenging work, building your skillset, and networking with fellow interns and Visa employees. Throughout the internship you will work on BAU work within your team, be given an end-to-end project to complete and take part in a variety of trainings to increase your learning. You will also get the opportunity to take part in a global social impact case challenge as well as hearing from senior leaders through our Visa Executive Speaker Series. The internship is just the beginning of what we hope will be a lasting career at Visa! If you are successful throughout your internship, you could even secure a graduate role with us when you finish university.

Our 2 Summer Intern cohort dates are:

• Tues. 15th June to Friday 27th August
• Tues. 6th July to Friday 17th September

Pay Transparency

The annual salary for a new hire in this position is 31388 EUR.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
