Cognizant is seeking a Consultant Lead in Madrid to design and evolve complex payment product architectures for an international technology organization. • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex payments needs into architectural decisions and technology roadmaps for future enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Drive end to end payment product architecture definition that aligns with enterprise standards regulatory expectations and performance objectives for global payment solutions
• Design scalable and secure solution blueprints for payments processing that address authorization clearing settlement and exception handling with high reliability
• Guide product teams on how to decompose payment product requirements into modular services that can be developed tested and deployed independently
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate complex payments product needs into clear architectural decisions and technology roadmaps that support future enhancements
• Review solution designs produced by engineering teams to ensure strict adherence to defined payments architecture patterns coding practices and integration standards
• Evaluate new technologies frameworks and third party payment services to determine architectural fit and long term value for the organization and its clients
• Work closely with security compliance and risk teams to embed strong controls for fraud prevention data protection and regulatory reporting in all payment product designs
• Partner with infrastructure and operations teams in a hybrid work environment to optimize system performance capacity planning and observability for payment transaction flows -Create and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation including context diagrams data flow diagrams and interface contracts for payments components
• Provide expert guidance during production incidents related to payment products by analyzing architectural dependencies and recommending sustainable remediation actions
• Mentor senior engineers on payments domain patterns including message formats routing rules clearing cycles and exception workflows to raise overall capability of the team -Engage with client facing teams to explain architectural decisions in accessible terms that demonstrate reliability scalability and business value of the payments platform -Align solution design with sustainable engineering practices so that payment products minimize operational overhead and support efficient change management over time
• Qualifications -Exhibit deep hands on experience in payments product architecture including transaction routing authorization risk checks and settlement across diverse channels
• Apply strong understanding of cards and payments domain concepts such as issuer acquirer switch schemes wallets and tokenization to design effective product capabilities
• Demonstrate proven experience of ten to thirteen years in architecting complex enterprise grade solutions ideally centered on large scale payment systems
• Utilize solid knowledge of integration patterns for payment gateways apis message queues and batch processing to enable reliable connectivity with internal and external partners
• Show proficiency in working with relational and non relational data stores for transaction data reconciliation data lineage and analytics focused on payment products
• Operate comfortably in a hybrid work model collaborating across locations time zones and functions using modern collaboration tools and structured communication practices
• Apply strong communication and documentation skills to clearly articulate architectural options risks trade offs and recommendations to technical and non technical audiences
• Display familiarity with modern engineering practices including api first design microservice oriented architectures automated testing and continuous delivery within payment ecosystems
