Our Quality Department plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of product excellence and compliance across all stages of production. As part of the Supply team, we work collaboratively to maintain and improve the quality of our products, processes, and systems, fostering innovation while adhering to stringent safety and regulatory requirements. You'll be joining a dynamic team of experts who are passionate about driving continuous improvement, maintaining customer satisfaction, and upholding our company’s reputation for exceptional quality.
How can you help us?
As a Compliant lead, your primary mission will be to guarantee the regulatory compliance of the products manufactured in Hero España with national and international laws and regulations specific to the food industry, including food safety standards. Develop and implement local policies and procedures, manage issues and prepare compliance risk reports.
Your main responsibilities
• Keeping up to date with the latest Regulations and Recommendations related to the products we manufacture at Hero España.
• Support local stakeholders in legislation and compliance issues.
• Provide regulatory expertise in creation and revision of specifications (Raw Material, Final Product, Intermediate Products).
• Crisis and incident management support.
• Support with compliance validation of Hero recipes and specifications.
• Support the approval procedure for new raw materials or existing raw materials from new suppliers.
• Carry out compliance risk assessments and provide Regulatory Support in product development projects.
• Support in periodic risk assessment of food fraud for the portfolio of products manufactured in Hero España.
• Support Hero's early warning team with emerging risks.
• Support in preparation and reporting of compliance and risk assessments, updates in regulations and recommendations to the relevant stakeholders.
• Work with external laboratories to find the most appropriate analytical techniques for our needs to ensure the legal compliance of our products and support reviewing labs’ suitability, cost and service.
Skills and Competencies
Background:
• Bachelor’s in Food Technology, Agricultural Engineer, Biology or related fields.
• Specialised training: courses and certifications in compliance, risk management and food safety.
• Recommended a minimum of 2 years of experience in Compliance and Risk assessment.
Competences:
• Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of EU and international food regulations, such as FDA and other regulatory agencies.
• Understanding of Quality, food fraud and risk management.
• Understanding of systems such as HACCP, IFS and other GFSI standards.
• Data Analysis: Ability to analyse data and detect patterns that may indicate non-compliance or potential risks.
• Food Technology: Understanding the processes of production and preservation of food.
• Fluency in Spanish and competent in English (B2).
Others:
• Proactive, autonomous, initiating action.
• Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Adapting and responding to change.
