nscglobal's Head of Global Logistics Management is a critical element in ensuring customers receive their hardware at the right place and time, prepared correctly. With around 50% of nscglobal revenues based on network hardware sales, increasingly complex global network deployment programmes, and global hardware replacement support services, this is a key role directly impacting revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The role is focused on ensuring that all elements of logistics, including logistics, inventory management, warehousing and depots, staging and preparation, reverse logistics, and import / export management, are available and delivered to a high quality. Considering the significant growth nscglobal logistics has experienced, this role is about bringing radical change to deliver the infrastructure and quality that will support this function into the future.
Responsibilities
Strong customer-facing skills from customer tender to business integration into NSC.
Work as part of multiple project teams.
The ability to deliver on time and within budget, ensuring all SLAs are met and exceeded.
Manage various 3rd party carriers across the region, bringing in best-of-class providers, processes, and systems that attract and retain customers.
Skilled in all regulatory bodies and compliance laws, ensuring goods travel safely and quickly without hindrance to the desired destination while keeping ahead of all governmental and customs rule / law changes.
Act as the interface with senior stakeholders to develop regional service offerings.
Interface with senior stakeholders including Operations, Transformation Services, Operational Service Support, Global Purchasing and Procurement, Finance & Accounts Payable, HR, and Commercial.
Utilize data to inform better business decisions and actions.
Development, critique, and presentation of proposals and reports, with supporting business cases.
Oversee and manage the entire supply chain process from procurement to delivery.
Develop and implement effective strategic plans to improve supply chain operations.
Responsible for people development, HR-related issues, and recruitment.
Commutable to customer offices and third-party providers when required, especially during customer transitions.
Qualifications
A detailed logistical knowledge is required around movements within the EU, following Brexit, to find the best path of travel, quick, cost-effective, and compliant.
A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background with an understanding of all elements of the Supply Chain is essential.
A background in delivering large-scale customer transactions.
Degree educated - advantageous.
Minimum of 5+ years Warehouse / Operations Management experience.
Experience in IT hardware logistics distribution - advantageous.
Existing knowledge of freight forwarding, customs, and import / export processes beneficial, particularly IOR / EOR experience.
Experience as a Warehouse Manager, Site Manager, Depot Manager, General Manager, Regional General Manager, or Head of Logistics.
Demonstrated global experience and / or perspective with a passion for sustainability.
IOSH / NEBOSH certification - desirable but not essential.
Experience managing a P&L up to £2M, monitoring all costs to ensure non-logistics costs are identified and reallocated to the correct business unit.
Track record of successfully delivering high levels of service through various 3rd party carriers.
Proven project management experience with successful delivery.
Results-driven and commercially focused, with the ability to identify ‘up sell’ opportunities.
Actively manage and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies, constructing suitable action plans to rectify and deliver the projects.
Industry experience in a management role.
Utilize data to identify risks and opportunities and develop new ideas and concepts.
