Role Description / Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Community Coordinator to join our team at the British Council School of Madrid. The role involves supporting stakeholder engagement, operational administration, managing communications, overseeing administrative processes, supporting sales and admissions, handling procurement, organizing events, and ensuring data management and reporting are efficient. The successful candidate will supervise customer service staff, manage small to medium-sized projects, and execute administrative tasks that ensure smooth school operations.

This position provides an opportunity to work closely with leadership and management teams, gaining experience in stakeholder engagement and operational administration. Key skills include planning, organization, flexibility, attention to detail, empathy, diplomacy, and problem-solving. Role Accountabilities

The role involves managing relationships and communication with current, prospective, and new families, staff, and alumni. Responsibilities include sharing school news, organizing events such as open days and ceremonies, and supporting bilingual communication in English and Spanish. The role also requires optimizing processes, managing resources, overseeing projects, generating reports, handling data, and utilizing school-specific tools to improve efficiency.

You will support customer service staff, collaborate within the administration team, and participate in duties outlined in the National Private Schools Collective Agreement. Flexibility and adaptability to changing operational needs are vital.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven recent experience dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience creating presentations.
  • Experience managing confidential records and knowledge of GDPR.
  • Experience organizing events.
  • Customer-facing experience in sales.
  • Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and Spanish Curriculum.
  • Extensive knowledge of school processes and tools related to staff, families, and providers.
  • Language requirements:

Essential: Proficiency in English (CEFR C2) and Spanish (CEFR C1) or vice versa.

  • Desirable: Proficiency in both English and Spanish at C2 level.
