Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Ritz, Madrid is seeking a motivated Commis Cook to join our Deessa Kitchen and Food & Beverage team. You will assist the Chef de Partie and kitchen brigade, preparing ingredients and executing dishes to MOHG standards for outlets and events.

This role offers exposure to high-volume banqueting and fine dining production within a luxury hotel environment, with opportunities for culinary skill development and career growth.

Qualifications

• Culinary qualification or vocational experience required.
• Some experience in a professional Michelin kitchen is preferred; luxury hotels or banqueting experience is a plus.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene and allergen handling (HACCP).
• Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and events.

Responsibilities

• Know all recipes and prep methods for your section so you can work independently.
• Lead the section and kitchen assistants when required.
• Manage order reception.
• Operate and care for kitchen equipment safely; keep workstations clean and organized.
• Receive, rotate, and store deliveries; assist with stock control.
