OpenAI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer focused on Codex to partner with leading engineering teams to design, build, and deploy AI-powered software development workflows. You will work hands-on in code, prototype evaluation harnesses, and drive production-ready solutions that improve engineering productivity.

You will collaborate across OpenAI Product, Research, and Engineering, ensuring safe, scalable deployments and providing technical leadership in ambiguous environments.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing and delivering software or AI systems in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on coding in production environments.
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered software development workflows.
• Work hands-on in code to prototype and evaluate AI coding systems.
• Guide customers from prototype to production deployments with measurable impact.
• Translate deployment experience into product and model feedback for OpenAI teams.
• Lead workshops and enablement sessions to promote adoption and safe use.
