About the job: Red Hat is seeking a Cloud Services Engineer - OpenShift with a strong background in OpenShift cluster deployment and configuration to join our Cloud Services Customer Experience team in Spain. The Red Hat Cloud Services Customer Experience organization is responsible for the strategy, design, and implementation of the end-to-end customer experience with Red Hat Cloud Services. Our Cloud Services team provides world-class support to Red Hat customers and partners globally for our platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. Responsibilities include:

  1. Contributing to initiatives to reduce customer effort, improve tooling, and develop automation software to enhance efficiency.
  2. Acting as the primary contact and advisor for customer inquiries via our Customer Portal, conference calls, and remote sessions.
  3. Proactively analyzing cluster status to identify vulnerabilities and proposing resilient solutions.
  4. Documenting customer interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to create reusable solutions.
  5. Partnering with internal and external teams to ensure seamless infrastructure support.
  6. Managing incident workloads to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
  7. Demonstrating a strong work ethic, teamwork, and customer focus.
  8. Availability for rotational weekend shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms (e.g., cri-o, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker).
  • Experience with developer workflows, CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills using tools like curl, strace, oc, Wireshark.
  • Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, FluentD.
  • Experience with configuration management and monitoring tools (Ansible, Terraform, Splunk).
  • Scripting and automation skills are a plus.
  • Ability to operate in secure, highly available environments and collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices (Incident, Change, Problem, Release Management).
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to mentor team members.
  • Experience with issue tracking tools like Jira.
  • Ability to work within an agile team with initiative and ownership.
