Vonage is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team and help drive innovation across the Vonage Video Platform. You’ll focus on backend systems, scalable architecture, and real-time communications.

You’ll work on feature development for API Gateway, Media Control and Signaling, with emphasis on performance, fault tolerance, and quality, collaborating across teams and embracing AI-enabled workflows.

Formación

• Strong Java 17 coding skills and willingness to learn more languages.
• Experience with JavaScript/HTML5 APIs across browser engines.
• Understanding memory management, garbage collection, and concurrency.
• Excellent debugging, problem solving, and knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

Responsabilidades

• Hands-on software development and system design.
• Implement new features for the cloud based API Gateway, Media Control and Signaling systems for the Vonage Video Platform.
• Contribute to software architectures for a highly distributed network application, resource optimization strategies, and real-time stream/message processing.
• Design and develop approaches to measure, evaluate and improve service quality.
• Collaborate on projects involving signalling fabric and coordinate with other teams.
• Embed AI assisted engineering into daily practice to accelerate delivery and enhance outcomes.
• Proactively adopt emerging AI capabilities to improve workflows and share best practices with the team.
