My client is a leader in disruptive video content delivery technology (MultiCDN) solutions used globally by streaming and broadcasting organizations. They seek a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to build and operate large-scale, distributed systems, combining software and systems engineering. The role is remote, within 2-3 hours of CET, with flexible start times aligned with the team at 9 am WET. There is an option to relocate to Tenerife, Spain.

This is a full-time remote position with flexible schedules, offering a chance to be at the forefront of technology in a dynamic environment.

Position Overview

We seek a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to scale and secure our AWS infrastructure, support engineering efforts, improve observability with Grafana, and implement security practices. Ideal candidates have some professional cloud experience and a passion for learning and ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance service monitoring, aiming for automation to detect issues promptly.
  • Design and maintain reliable cloud architecture with minimal downtime.
  • Develop and enforce security policies for services.
  • Troubleshoot issues across infrastructure, code, and configurations.
  • Document and share knowledge within the team.
  • Stay updated with the latest DevOps tools and strategies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale production systems.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Support security best practices, including IAM, secrets management, and VPCs.
  • Participate in incident response and postmortem processes.
  • Use source control tools like Git or GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and willing to face challenges.

While the position is fully remote and flexible, regular synchronous work hours are preferred between 09:00 and 13:00 WET for team coordination.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Serverless architecture experience on AWS.
  • Experience with databases or message brokers like Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka.
  • Skills in performance and security testing.
  • Knowledge of container technologies such as ECS, EKS, Docker.
  • Contributions to security or observability initiatives.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools.
  • Background in DevOps or SRE cultures.
