Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

My client is a leader in disruptive video content delivery technology (MultiCDN) solutions used by streaming and broadcasting organizations worldwide. They seek a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to build and operate large-scale, distributed systems, combining software and systems engineering. This key role in their growing Cloud platform offers remote work from anywhere within 2-3 hours of CET, with a start time aligned to the team at 9am WET and some flexibility.

The company supports remote working extensively, especially during current times, and offers relocation to Tenerife, Spain, if desired.

Position Details

Join a company with innovative products in content delivery and media streaming. As they expand internationally beyond their Tenerife base, they aim to deliver high-quality services globally. Growing from a startup, they are looking for talented individuals to join their engineering team and work on exciting new products for top industry clients.

This full-time remote position offers flexible schedules, with an emphasis on collaboration during core hours (09:00-13:00 WET).

What You Will Find in This Position

We're seeking a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help scale and secure AWS infrastructure, improve observability with Grafana, and implement security best practices. The role is suitable for someone with some professional cloud experience, eager to learn and take ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Improve service monitoring, automating detection of production issues.
  • Design and maintain reliable, near-zero downtime cloud architecture.
  • Implement security policies for engineering services.
  • Resolve infrastructure, code, configuration, and data issues.
  • Document and share knowledge within the team.
  • Stay updated with the latest DevOps tools and strategies.

What We Expect from You

  • Experience with AWS cloud environment.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale systems.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Participate in incident response and postmortems.

Core working hours are typically between 09:00 and 13:00 WET, with flexibility to accommodate team synchronization.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with serverless architectures (AWS).
  • Knowledge of open-source databases/message brokers (Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Experience with performance and security testing.
  • Familiarity with container tech (ECS, EKS, Docker).
  • Contributions to security or observability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
  • Experience in DevOps or SRE cultures.
