Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

My client is a leader in disruptive video content delivery technology (MultiCDN) solutions used by streaming and broadcasting organizations worldwide. They seek to hire a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer who combines software and systems engineering to build and operate large-scale, distributed systems. This remote role requires working within 2-3 hours of CET, with flexibility in start times, and an option to relocate to Tenerife, Spain.

What you will find in this position:

We are looking for a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to help scale and secure our AWS infrastructure. Responsibilities include building reliable infrastructure, enhancing observability with Grafana, and implementing security practices. Ideal candidates have experience with cloud environments, learning enthusiasm, and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities:

  1. Improve service monitoring and automation for timely problem detection.
  2. Design and maintain reliable cloud architecture with minimal downtime.
  3. Develop and monitor security policies for services.
  4. Investigate and resolve issues across infrastructure, code, and configurations.
  5. Document knowledge sharing within the team.
  6. Stay updated with CIE/DevOps tools and strategies.

What we expect from you:

  • Experience with AWS cloud environment.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
  • Experience designing and operating large-scale production systems.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Support security best practices (IAM, secrets management, VPC).
  • Participate in incident response and postmortem processes.
  • Use source control tools (Git, GitLab).
  • Work within Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Team-oriented and proactive in improving workflows.
  • Willingness to face challenges.

While the position is fully remote, some tasks and meetings are scheduled between 09:00 and 13:00 WET to facilitate team synchronization.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with serverless architecture (AWS).
  • Knowledge of open-source databases/message brokers (Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka).
  • Experience with performance/security testing.
  • Familiarity with container technologies (ECS, EKS, Docker).
  • Contributions to security or observability initiatives.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
  • Experience in DevOps/SRE cultures.

Candidates are not expected to have expertise in all areas, but should demonstrate strength in some and interest in others.
