A European cloud technology firm is seeking a Cloud-Edge Solutions Documentation Technical Advisor to support an innovative project focusing on cloud and edge computing documentation. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in technical documentation management, along with a solid educational background in computer science. This is a remote position, offering a maximum hourly rate of 35 euros for a period of approximately 11 months.

Introduction

OpenNebula Systems has been leading the development of European open source technology for over a decade, helping organizations manage data centers and build Enterprise Clouds worldwide. We are hiring to expand our team of passionate professionals dedicated to next-generation cloud and edge strategies.

Supported by the European Commission since 2019, we innovate in edge computing and participate in EU initiatives like IPCEI-CIS and the European Alliance for Industrial Data, Edge and Cloud.

We seek a Cloud-Edge Solutions Documentation Technical Advisor (Contractor) to support our IPCEI-CIS project, focusing on developing a management platform for the Cloud-Edge Computing Continuum, including AI integration and interoperability.

Objective

The role involves guiding and supporting the project team in producing high-quality technical documentation for cloud and edge computing use cases, ensuring best practices and alignment with open source principles, Diátaxis framework, and stakeholder needs.

Scope

Activities include documentation structuring, review, and enhancement across IPCEI-CIS ecosystems, including tutorials, user guides, white papers, release notes, and community engagement.

Services

1. Provide expert guidance on managing technical documentation lifecycle.
2. Assist in creating release notes for new versions.
3. Review and improve tutorials, user guides, and white papers.
4. Support White Paper production and quality assurance.
5. Enhance Knowledge Base articles with external best practices.
6. Assist in preparing project deliverables.
7. Promote documentation best practices across the organization.
8. Support localization and community engagement initiatives.

Duration

From 1st August 2025 to 30th June 2026 (11 months)

Location

Remote, with occasional face-to-face meetings

Budget

Maximum hourly rate: 35 euros

Maximum hours/year: 1,800

Total estimated cost: 57,750 euros

Administrative Requirements

Contractors must provide social security and tax compliance certificates before contract signing, within two weeks of award notification.
