We are expanding our Tech team with a Cloud Architect role to help scale our Cloud Ops at Fast Track! The Cloud Architect will manage AWS (and other cloud accounts) to ensure cost efficiency, security, and compliance. They will work with producers to plan and implement cloud-based solutions, monitor and optimise cloud costs, ensure all cloud resources follow least privilege principles, and stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies. Additionally, they will build and lead a high-performance cloud team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Kubernetes, big data technologies, security best practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies. The Cloud Architect will report to the CTO and be a key part of the Tech team.

The goals of the role include:

  • Implement and report on cost optimisations monthly.
  • Manage hosting economics, reporting on actual vs billable costs.
  • Suggest improvements and develop packages for our products.
  • Maintain supported versions of our tech stack, from Kubernetes to EC2 instances.
  • Implement and manage least privilege access.
  • Build and lead a high-performance cloud team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage AWS and other cloud accounts for cost efficiency, security, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with CTO and producers on large-scale projects.
  • Manage hosting economics, minimizing losses while maintaining transparent pricing.
  • Ensure cloud resources follow least privilege principles.
  • Stay updated on cloud technologies.
  • Coordinate with development and operations teams on CI/CD best practices for continuous delivery.
  • Build, develop, and mentor the cloud team.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in software engineering.
  • At least 1 year in a leadership role within Cloud/DevOps teams.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, and Golang.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure as code.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Leadership and communication skills, inspiring teams and articulating technical vision.
