At Moeve, we're driving a transformative strategy called “Positive Motion,” focused on greening our revenue streams. As part of this vision, our Trading team plays a crucial role in optimizing value from both legacy hydrocarbons and emerging energy flows. Trading is key to maximizing value by expanding and leveraging our platform.

We are looking for skilled professionals to join our Demurrage and Claims Team, which plays a vital role in supporting our trading operations. As part of this team, you will analyze, negotiate, and execute demurrage claims arising from time-charter and spot-charter contracts, as well as from international sales contracts for crude and products. You will ensure the successful execution of physical cargo operations, handle claims related to quantity and quality discrepancies and manage negotiations requiring advanced technical knowledge. Your work will help keep Moeve competitive in the changing energy market, making this a great opportunity if you have a strong interest in operations and trading.

The responsibilities we´ll trust you with

  • Coordinate with the crude, products, and transportation departments to manage all aspects of demurrage and quantity / quality loss claims. This includes ensuring timely and accurate resolution, systematically managing the claims portfolio to meet time bars, providing effective responses to counterparties, conducting negotiations, and ensuring prompt closure of claims.
  • Calculate, prepare, and verify contract shipping expenses and demurrage claims / invoices in accordance with oil trading contracts, general terms and conditions, and charter party terms.
  • Perform calculations related to delays, quantity, and quality losses for each trip in the relevant computer systems (GMB, IMOS, SAP).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third parties, including trading companies, vessel owners, and brokers. Leverage these relationships to aid Moeve in demurrage negotiations.
  • Manage and keep updated records of the status of various delays and quantity / quality losses to monitor and supervise claims sent and received, the economic costs involved, and subsequent third-party payment claims.
  • Investigate and collate facts and data gathered from traders, operators, charterers, legal, and tax advisors to fully assess each demurrage claim.
  • Provide detailed analytical assessments on a regular basis of outstanding claims and costs to trading benches and risk management teams.
  • Ensure strict adherence to various contractual and charter party time bar clauses.
