Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Civil Engineer for a role focusing on roads and stormwater projects in the Eastern Cape. You will design, develop, and maintain transportation and drainage infrastructure while ensuring safety, functionality, and sustainability.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in road design principles, hydraulic engineering, and municipal standards, with practical site experience and the ability to work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Pr.Eng. or Pr.Tech. Eng. registration with ECSA.
• 5+ years in roads and stormwater design and management.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D or Civil Designer.
• Knowledge of pavement design and hydraulic calculations.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan road construction and rehabilitation projects.
• Develop stormwater systems including culverts and detention facilities.
• Ensure compliance with SANS standards, bylaws, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare specifications, drawings, and BOQs for tender.
• Supervise construction, conduct site inspections and quality control.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, and contractors.
