We support over 200 languages 24/7, including in education, legal, technology, and medical fields.

CIT seeks professional on-site Spanish interpreters for assignments in/around San Lucas, CA, and surrounding areas with experience in conference interpreting.

This is an independent contractor position. Assignments are on-call, and you are free to accept or decline any assignment. You may work elsewhere. Offers depend on location, availability, your rates, and performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Act professionally during onsite interpreting sessions—e.g., arrive on time, maintain courtesy, dress appropriately, follow COVID-19 safety measures like wearing a face mask, etc.
2. Follow clients’ instructions, manage conversation flow, avoid dominating meetings, and refrain from side conversations with limited English speakers.
3. Process information quickly and accurately; interpret concepts and meanings faithfully; uphold grammatical correctness, clarity, tone, and cultural sensitivity.
4. Use clear enunciation, polite language, a professional tone, and stay calm, even if conversations become heated.
