Descripción del empleo

We're looking for a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our growing Data team at The Hotels Network.

The Hotels Network is an award-winning technology company providing innovative software (B2B SaaS) for the hospitality industry. Since day one, we've worked hard to bring together an awesome team with deep expertise in hospitality, product design and consumer marketing. United by the mission to help hotel brands increase direct bookings, we build pioneering technology that enables any hotel to optimize their guests’ booking experience and regain their fair share of online revenue.

Based at our headquarters in Barcelona as well as in other strategic locations around the globe, The Hotels Network team is made up of 150 people from 25 different nationalities. To fuel our continued rapid growth, we are looking for a data scientist to join our team based in Barcelona. This is an extraordinary opportunity to join a very ambitious company at a point where your work will have an immediate impact on its growth and results.

We are applying machine learning techniques on a unique industry data set built up through interaction with tens of thousands of hotels.

What we do

Our Data Science team plays a key role in shaping the direction of our platform. We combine deep technical expertise with real-world impact, working across a wide range of ML / AI domains — from user behaviour prediction and NLP to LLMs, computer vision, time-series forecasting, and causal inference.

Thanks to a unique dataset built from millions of daily user sessions across 20,000+ hotel websites, we’ve been able to develop AI-powered products that lead the market in personalization and performance.

Here are some examples of what we have built:
  1. Oraculo Product: We developed a predictive system using machine learning to forecast user behaviour — including purchase likelihood, price sensitivity, and travel flexibility. This enables personalized experiences through targeted messaging, boosting both engagement and conversion for our hotel clients.
  2. AI-Driven Web Content Analysis: Leveraging NLP techniques, we built tools to analyse web content across more than 20,000 hotel websites. Combined with behaviour data from over 400 million annual visitors, this delivers actionable insights that help hoteliers understand and optimize the user journey.
  3. AI-Powered Personalization Tools: Using Large Language Models (LLMs), we launched a recommendation engine that automatically configures personalized web tools for each property. It targets specific customer segments with the most relevant messaging — maximizing the effectiveness of direct booking strategies.

Our Data Science team is at the core of our innovation. We develop and implement cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques that power our market-leading products. We’re able to deliver high-value innovations because:

  • We have access to a unique dataset built from years of browsing behavior data from millions of daily users on hotel websites around the globe.
  • Our team has deep expertise across a wide range of ML / AI areas, including User behavior prediction, Natural Language Processing (NLP), LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAGs), and agentic workflows, and Time series forecasting.
  • Our developments lead to real, high-impact products used by clients every day.

We’re growing our team and seeking someone eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI and machine learning products that deliver real value to our customers. Your work will directly influence key product features used by tens of thousands of hotels and millions of travellers around the world.

What we’re looking for Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a double degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.
  2. 2+ years of industry experience applying machine learning techniques.
  3. Proven track record of end-to-end data science project execution — from ideation and planning to implementation, evaluation, and delivery.
  4. Strong theoretical and practical understanding of Machine Learning and statistics.
  5. Proficient in Python and experienced with core Python ML libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow / keras or pytorch, matplotlib, seaborn, fastapi).
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, resourceful attitude.
  7. Self-motivated, creative, and always eager to learn and try new tools.
Nice to have:
  1. Experience working with Airflow DAGs and Apache Kafka.
  2. Familiarity with AWS (e.g., S3 with boto3, ECR, etc.).
  3. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  4. Proficiency with Linux, version control systems like Git (GitHub), and CI / CD pipelines.
  5. Experience managing and processing large datasets.
  6. Hands-on experience with Deep Learning, particularly using PyTorch.
  7. Experience deploying RAGs and agentic workflows in production.
  8. Familiarity with best practices in production environments: code reviews, testing, documentation, and long-term maintenance.
  9. Master’s Degree in a relevant field is a plus.
What we offer:
  1. Be part of a truly international team (25+ nationalities).
  2. Work from a central office in Barcelona.
  3. Have a real impact on a fast-growing tech company.
  4. Ongoing internal and external training opportunities.
  5. Healthy work-life balance, including flexible hours and a 3-day-per-week remote work policy.
  6. Flexible benefits plan (restaurant / transport / nursery vouchers).
  7. Coffee, tea, fresh fruit, and regular team breakfasts.
