A leading company in the technology sector is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to manage accounting and tax operations in Spain. This role requires overseeing multiple subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess significant accounting experience and strong leadership skills, as well as proficiency in accounting software and regulations.

Formación

  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

Descripción del empleo

You will be responsible for carrying out and monitoring all accounting and tax operations relating to Data4’s business in Spain. You will monitor financial flow in order to prepare reports (balance sheet, income statement, tax return, etc.). You will supervise auxiliary accounting (AR, AP). You are familiar with SOX requirements and documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and manage the accounting functions of multiple subsidiaries.
  • Perform accounting tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance (incl. AR including billing and cash collection, AP including payment process, bank reconciliation, Fixed Assets book and depreciation, intercompany reconciliation).
  • Manage GL accounting, execute and / or record transactions, including needed documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal controls.
  • Coordinate and manage the month-end, quarterly and year-end closing processes.
  • Responsible for the preparation of annual financial statements in relation to external auditors.
  • Implement Group accounting policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Manage one accountant.
  • Prepare / Coordinate tax filing (VAT, CIT, other local taxes).

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX regulations and compliance.
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in a multinational company.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and tax procedures.
  • Good knowledge of Spanish GAAP; IFRS knowledge is considered a plus.
  • Good knowledge of Spanish Tax legislation.
  • Knowledge of legal standards (labour law, tax law, company law).
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience with Excel, including dashboards and pivot tables.
  • Good knowledge of accounting software (Sage X3 is a plus).
  • Sense of organization and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (French is a plus).
