Job summary

Owner or Representative seeks a reliable Chase boat Captain/Bosun for a private 39-meter yacht based in Palma de Mallorca. Start date beginning of November. Roles include steering on watches, mooring, and deck duties with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

The ideal candidate has senior yachting experience, STCW Basic Safety Training, ENG1, and the ability to operate a 37-foot chase tender. International cruising knowledge and Schengen visa are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Must hold RYA Yachtmaster Offshore and STCW Basic Safety Training.
• Engage in watchkeeping on the bridge and navigational watches.
• Proven maritime regulatory knowledge and safety procedures.
• Fluency in English required; work authorization with Schengen visa.

Responsibilities

• Stand bridge watches and assist with navigation.
• Assist with mooring, anchoring and chase boat operations.
• Perform general deck duties including washing, teak care and painting.
• Support onboard safety procedures and drills.
• Collaborate with the Chief Mate on daily tasks.

Job description

We are an explorer style 39-meter, 430 GT privately operated steel hull motor yacht, built in 2025 to commercial standards and kept in class, currently located in Mallorca, with an international team of 8 permanent crew members. No party people, no charter.

Position: Reliable and skilled Chase boat Captain/ Bosun

Location: Palma de Mallorca

Start Date: Beginning of November

Requirements:

• RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (essential)
• Proven watchkeeping experience (bridge / navigational watch)
• Minimum 45 years yachting experience
• Valid STCW Basic Safety Training
• Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate
• Strong tender driving skills (37feet Tender)
• Solid knowledge of deck operations & maintenance
• Fluent English
• B1/B2 and Schengen Visa
• A strong understanding of maritime regulations and safety protocols

Key Responsibilities

• Stand bridge watches and assist with navigation
• Assist with mooring, anchoring and performing chase boat operations
• Perform general deck duties (washdowns, teak care, polishing, painting)
• Support safety procedures and drills onboard
• Work closely with the Chief Mate

Cruising area:
