EPM Scientific in Barcelona seeks a hands-on Head of Finance / CFO to own the finance function for a fast-growing medical technology business. You will lead a small team, manage day-to-day operations, and shape the financial roadmap while partnering with the CEO and Board.

The role requires 15–20 years of finance experience and fluency in English and Spanish. You will contribute to fundraising efforts and financial modelling in a regulated, dynamic environment.

• 15–20 years of finance experience in SME environments.
• Hands-on leader capable of both strategic and transactional work.
• Experience supporting fundraising, investor relations, or corporate finance is advantageous.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is essential.

Responsabilidades

• Own the complete finance function and lead a small team.
• Oversee daily finance operations: reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, controls, audits.
• Act as strategic partner to the CEO and Board with financial roadmaps.
• Lead Board-level reporting and presentations.
• Support upcoming funding rounds, due diligence, and financial modelling.

Head of Finance / CFO - Medical Device - Barcelona, Spain €80,000 - €130,000 + 20% bonus | Relocation assistance available

We are partnering on a confidential basis with a fast-growing medical technology business in Barcelona to appoint a Head of Finance / CFO. This is a newly confidential search for a hands-on finance leader who will own the full finance function for a c.54-person organisation and act as a genuine strategic partner to the CEO and Board.

The role

• Full ownership of all financial activity across the business, leading and developing a small team (Accounting Technician and Administrative support).
• Run the day-to-day operational finance function - reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, controls, audit and compliance.
• Act as strategic advisor to the CEO, shaping the financial roadmap of the company.
• Lead preparation and delivery of Board-level reporting and presentations.
• Play a central role in an upcoming funding round, supporting investor engagement, due diligence and financial modelling.

What we're looking for

• 15-20 years' finance experience, including time as Head of Finance, Finance Director, Finance Manager or CFO in an SME environment.
• Medical device or wider life sciences background is ideal, though strong candidates from other technical, regulated or product-led industries will be considered.
• Genuinely hands-on - comfortable operating at both strategic and transactional level in a lean team.
• Experience supporting or leading fundraising, investor relations or corporate finance processes is highly advantageous.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential.
