Are you an experienced Pressure Equipment Directive professional?

Here at BSI, we have a new position for a Certification Manager to join us and manage the development, implementation, and future business activities related to the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014 / 68 / EU (PED). You'll provide technical expertise on a wide range of pressure equipment to support inspection and certification activities related to the PED / TPED. You will also undertake assessment activities within BSI’s certification as an EN ISO / IEC 17021-1 Certification Body and inspection activities within the scope of BSI’s certification as an EN ISO 17020 Type A Inspection Body. Additionally, you'll develop and maintain excellent relationships with current and potential clients, including exhibiting at customer events to support business development and marketing.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience / Competencies :

• Chartered Engineer with at least 5 years experience in a senior technical / management role in a pressure-related industry (preferred) OR equivalent, as determined by the PED Technical Manager based on pressure equipment career history, qualifications, and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of design practices, design and manufacturing codes, materials, manufacturing (including welding), inspection (including NDT), pressure testing, and certification.
• Commercial and business awareness of pressure equipment manufacture and inspection.
• Detailed technical understanding of the PED, pressure equipment codes / standards, and the products, practices, and industries affected.
• Proven communicator with training and presentation skills, particularly in a technically complex field.

About You

This is a client-facing role, so you'll need a strong customer service ethos and excellent communication and influencing skills. You should have a broad knowledge of pressure-related equipment, relevant standards and codes, and PED.

You will need to be able to self-manage your time and workload, prioritize demands, and plan ahead.

Ideally, you will be a Chartered Engineer with at least 5 years experience in a senior technical / management role in a pressure-related industry.

You should have in-depth knowledge of design practices, design and manufacturing codes, materials, manufacturing (including welding), inspection (including NDT), pressure testing, and certification, as well as commercial and business awareness of pressure equipment manufacture and inspection. A detailed technical understanding of the PED, pressure equipment codes / standards, and the relevant industries is essential.
