The Opportunity

Reporting to the Casualty Portfolio Manager, this role involves underwriting business in line with the business plan and within delegated authority.

Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the annual business plan for the respective business unit.
2. Apply reinsurance strategies to safeguard the casualty portfolio.
3. Participate in meetings to share and develop strategies and best practices.
4. Promote the department, division, and company to maximize brand presence.
5. Perform underwriting activities complying with legal and regulatory requirements.
6. Adhere to underwriting standards and good practices to minimize risks.
7. Record and measure insurance risks accurately.
8. Understand and comply with reinsurance requirements.
9. Develop relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, and colleagues.
10. Understand market dynamics to enhance performance.
11. Maintain expertise through continuous learning.
12. Underwrite risks, negotiate rates and terms, ensure documentation, and support business objectives.
13. Participate in portfolio reviews and ensure data accuracy.
14. Contribute to aggregate management and peer review processes.
15. Motivate and coach team members for professional development.
