A private yacht management company is seeking a professional Captain for a 30m private sailing yacht based in Monaco. This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a family-oriented environment and seeks stability while managing day trips in the Western Mediterranean. Candidates must hold a Yachtmaster Ocean, STCW and ENG1 certificates, and have at least 2 years of experience as a Captain. Potential for growth into a larger yacht program, with a refit scheduled in Badalona in Winter 2025.

Formación

• Minimum 2 years of experience as Captain on similar-sized sailing vessels (25–35m range).
• Proven experience running family or private sailing programs.

Responsabilidades

• Full command of the vessel and safe navigation at all times.
• Assisting the owner and family as they learn to sail and gain confidence on board.
• Planning and executing day trips and short cruising itineraries.
• Managing the upcoming refit scheduled in Badalona, Winter 2025.
• Overseeing up to 4 crew members during high season and ensuring smooth onboard operations.
• Maintaining the yacht to a high standard and ensuring readiness for owner use.

A new owner has recently purchased a 30m private sailing yacht with the goal of learning to sail and spending quality time at sea with his children. The family is based in Monaco, where they also have a residence, and the yacht will be primarily used for day cruising around the Mediterranean.

This is a fantastic, long-term opportunity for a professional and personable Sailing Yacht Captain who enjoys working in a family-oriented environment. The owner envisions this as a growing program, with plans to move towards a larger sailing yacht (potentially a Perini Navi or similar) in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Full command of the vessel and safe navigation at all times
• Assisting the owner and family as they learn to sail and gain confidence on board

Requirements

• Minimum: Yachtmaster Ocean
• Valid STCW and ENG1 certificates
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Captain on similar-sized sailing vessels (25–35m range)
• Fluent English; Italian language skills a plus
• Sailing Instructor background desirable
• Proven experience running family or private sailing programs
• Professional, patient, and adaptable – comfortable in an owner-learning environment
