Job Offer : Senior Frontend Developer at Digital Earth Solutions

At Digital Earth Solutions, a CSIC spin-off specializing in ocean modeling, we are seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to join our technology innovation team. What You’ll Do :

• Design and develop user interfaces for our cutting-edge ocean modeling tools, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Leverage your deep expertise in React to build intuitive, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with scientific and technical teams to translate complex requirements into functional, user-friendly solutions.
• Optimize and maintain CI / CD workflows to ensure seamless and secure deployments.
• Contribute to the development and management of microservices for data-driven ocean applications using containers and cloud platforms.
• Play a key role in strategic planning sessions, providing insights and shaping the company’s tech direction.
• Tackle dynamic challenges, embracing opportunities to innovate and solve complex technical problems.

Minimum Requirements : Technologies and Tools :

• Expert-level proficiency in frontend development using React, including advanced knowledge of its ecosystem.
• Proven ability to implement and maintain web-based mapping technologies like WebGL, GIS tools, or open-source solutions (e.g., Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers).
• Advanced experience with CI / CD workflows, automated integrations, and agile development environments.
• Proficiency with containers and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Skills and Competencies :

• Attention to detail and a user-first mindset, ensuring every interface is polished and functional.
• Collaborative and communicative, thriving in multidisciplinary teams of developers, scientists, and domain experts.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies as project needs evolve.

Location and Language :

• Must be based in Spain.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English is desired, as communication will occur in both languages.

Desired Qualifications :

• Experience with AWS or Google Cloud for scalable architectures.
• Knowledge of programming for scientific applications and modeling.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and best practices for handling sensitive data.
