The Foundation for Biomedical Research of the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital is the managing body of the Research Institute of the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital, IDIPHISA.

JOB OFFER
The Fundación para la Investigación Biomédica del Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro announces a position of Researcher for the area of Translational research in Lung Cancer with professional category of Senior Graduate of the Professional Group II for the functional area 2 scientific-technical area.
The area of Translational Research in Lung Cancer is formed by 43 researchers, has published 72 articles in 2024, and is mainly dedicated to the development of research in the following lines: Neoadjuvant Chemoimmunotherapy, Evaluation of the efficacy of new cancer treatments, Clinical Utility of Liquid Biopsy, Tumor Microenvironment, Big Data and digital transformation and Genetic and environmental factors of predisposition to lung cancer.
This contract is being carried out under the project “SHARE: SpanisH cAnceR data spacE”, funded by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function with file number TSI-100123-2024-3, whose objective is the creation of a data space dedicated to sharing data from more lung cancer patients that will allow the creation of artificial intelligence models with which to advance knowledge of this disease and develop predictive models that help in its prognosis and survival.
Being part of this project will provide experience in the development of interoperable health data spaces to share data and collaborate in future research on this and other types of cancer, or other diseases.
The activities to be carried out are those established in the project report:

TASKS/FUNCTIONS TO BE PERFORMED:
o Management and coordination of the technological activities of the project
o Coordination of the actors and components involved in the design and development of the data space.
o Support in the identification of requirements, elaboration of architecture and use case design.
o Support in the development of the governance of the data sharing ecosystem.
o Coordination of the design of the data space and elaboration of requirements and architecture document.
o Collaboration in the development and optimization of the models.
o Collaboration in the development of model testing and validation.
o Support in the tasks of communication, dissemination and exploitation of the project.
o Collaboration in the tasks of networking.
o and in general as many as are necessary for the development of the project in accordance with the required qualification.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- University Degree with official Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent in disciplines in the Technology or Data Science sectors.
- Knowledge of Big Data and Data Infrastructures
Other merits to be valued:
- Minimum level of English B2 or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify, anticipate and solve problems proactively.
- Experience in research related to the biomedical field.
- Experience in the preparation of scientific articles.
CONTRACT CONDITIONS
The modality of the contract is Temporary within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR).
The duration of the tasks to be performed is 12 months.
The duration of the contract is subject to:
(a) The completion or termination of the project or phase/work package to which the contract is linked.
b) The completion or termination of the economic resources assigned to said project.
c) The termination or extinction of the specific line of financing assigned to the contracting of personnel within said project.

EVALUATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
Applications that meet the requirements and are within the deadline of the call will be examined by an evaluation committee composed of three members (a president and two members), who must have at least the same qualifications as those required in the call. One of the members may be replaced by HR personnel, if so considered by the PI.
Following the recommendation of the Equality Plan, the participation in the tribunals must be balanced between men and women, as far as possible, and its members will follow the recommendations and measures contained in said Plan to reduce the gender impact, having received the appropriate training for its application.
