The Puerta de Hierro University Hospital Biomedical Research Foundation is the governing body of the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital Research Institute (IDIPHISA).
Being part of IDIPHISA provides the opportunity to develop biomedical research activities under conditions of quality and excellence, in the field of clinical and translational research, both nationally and internationally. IDIPHISA currently has five research areas and 43 research groups.
JOB OFFER
The Puerta de Hierro University Hospital Biomedical Research Foundation is offering a Researcher position for the Translational Research Area in Lung Cancer, with a professional category of Intermediate Graduate of Professional Group II for the Scientific and Technical Functional Area 2.
The Translational Research Area in Lung Cancer is comprised of 43 researchers, has published 72 articles by 2024, and is primarily dedicated to developing research in the following areas : Neoadjuvant Chemoimmunotherapy, Evaluation of the Efficacy of New Cancer Treatments, Clinical Utility of Liquid Biopsy, Tumor Microenvironment, Big Data and Digital Transformation, and Genetic and Environmental Factors Predisposing to Lung Cancer.
This contract is being awarded under the "SHARE : SpanisH cAnceR data spacE" grant / project, funded by the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service under file number TSI-100123-2024-3. The objective of this project is to create a data space dedicated to sharing data on more than 100 lung cancer patients. This will allow for the creation of artificial intelligence models to advance our understanding of this disease and develop predictive models that aid in prognosis and survival. Participating in this project will provide experience in the development of interoperable health data spaces for data sharing and collaboration on future research into this and other types of cancer, as well as other diseases.
The activities to be developed are those established in the aforementioned project report :
TASKS / FUNCTIONS TO BE PERFORMED :

o Support in the analysis and quality assurance of data for biomedical research.
o Collaboration in data exploitation using data analysis tools.
o Collaboration in the analysis and interpretation of results obtained.
o Support in the identification of requirements, development of architecture, and use case design.
o Support in the development of data sharing ecosystem governance.
o Collaboration in the development of testing and model validation.
o Support in communication, dissemination, and exploitation tasks for the project.
o Collaboration in networking tasks.
o and, in general, any other tasks necessary for the development of the project in accordance with the required qualifications.

CONTRACT CONDITIONS
The contract is for an open-ended scientific-technical contract.
The expected duration of the tasks to be performed is 12 months.
The contract term is subject to :
a) The completion or termination of the project or phase / work package to which the contract is linked.
b) The completion or termination of the financial resources assigned to said project.
c) The termination or termination of the specific funding line assigned to the hiring of personnel within said project.
The salary is €24,038.29 gross per year, as established in the current Collective Agreement of the Group of Companies of the Biomedical Research Foundations of the Secondary Social Security Institutes of Sermas.
The full-time work schedule will be 37.5 hours per week, and the employee may not participate in any other project.
The work location is the Puerta de Hierro University Hospital in Majadahonda.

EVALUATION AND SELECTION PROCESS
Applications that meet the requirements and are submitted within the call for applications deadline will be reviewed by an evaluation committee composed of three members (a chair and two members), who must have at least the same qualifications as those required in the call for applications. One of the members may be replaced by HR personnel, if the IP so deems appropriate.
Following the action recommendation of the Equality Plan, participation in the panels must be balanced between men and women, to the extent possible, and their members will follow the recommendations and measures contained in said Plan to reduce the gender impact, having received appropriate training for its application.
In accordance with the European Commission's OTMR code of conduct for the recruitment of researchers, the recruitment process follows the general principles and requirements to ensure respect for values, as well as transparency in the recruitment process and equal treatment of all applicants.
The CV will be taken into account, along with the aforementioned merits. Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements established in the call for applications will be admitted for processing.
The selection system will consist of the following phases :
Phase A - Evaluation of Merits (maximum 60 points) :
The maximum score that can be awarded for evaluating the different merits will be 60 points, which will be determined by the sum of the scores obtained in each of the following sections :
The selection body may request any clarifications it deems appropriate from interested parties regarding the merits claimed.
The qualifications claimed must be in place by the application deadline and must be properly documented so that they can be assessed if deemed necessary.
To pass Phase A and move on to Phase B interviews, a score of 30 or higher is required.
Phase B Aptitude Assessment and Interview (maximum 40 points) : The interview will cover any aspect related to the applicant's CV and the position to be filled.
To pass Phase B, a score of 20 or higher is required.
During the evaluation, subjective parameters must also be considered, such as a potentially valuable contribution to the professional development of candidates, especially in the case of researchers, towards a multidimensional career path, such as career interruptions or chronological variations in CVs, etc.
