Formación

Offer Description

The research assistant will join a multidisciplinary project team led by Nuria Sebastian, director of the Speech Acquisition and Perception lab at the Center for Brain and Cognition, Pompeu Fabra University. The position is supported by ICREA Academia 2023. The research aims to explore the impact of language distance in early (simultaneous) bilingualism on fundamental processes of speech perception. The project involves testing a diverse sample of simultaneous bilinguals in the first months of life and in adulthood. The expected start date is 1 September 2025, and the position is based in Barcelona.

Planned remuneration: approximately €28,676.14 gross per year.

Selection Process

Candidates will be evaluated based on their curriculum vitae, and, if necessary, through a test and/or interview. The evaluation criteria are as follows:

• Academic Training (0-20 points): Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Physics, Mathematics, or similar; Master in Cognitive Neuroscience or similar.
• Other professional training and experience relevant to the profile (0-60 points): Experience in a Cognitive Neuroscience Lab, EEG data collection and analysis (adults and infants), with experience with infant populations being a plus.
• Additional merits (0-20 points): High level of English; proficiency in MATLAB and Python; ability to start on 1 September 2025.

The minimum passing score is 70 points. The candidate with the highest score will be offered the position.
