Offer Description

The PhD candidate will join a project that integrates textual analysis, experimental archaeology, and detailed investigations of Roman and medieval archaeological sites in Spain. The research aims to provide new insights into the history of rice diffusion in Spain, as well as into Roman and medieval dietary practices. Analytical methods will include but are not limited to use-wear analysis, starch grain analysis, and phytolith analysis. The PhD candidate will also be expected to teach one course (3 credits) per year.

This contract is funded by the Community of Madrid, within the framework of the 2024 César Nombela Call for Proposals to Attract Research Talent. File number: 2024-T1/PH-HUM-31586.
