Formación

• 5 to 10 years of CADD management on large infrastructure projects required.

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services in construction. We are currently seeking a CAD Manager for a project in the United States.

• Estimated Duration : 72 months. Upon project completion, we aim to assign the employee to other projects to ensure continuity.
• Schedule : 9 hours daily (including 1 hour for lunch).

Position Description

We are looking for a highly skilled CAD Manager to lead the CAD design team and oversee the production and coordination of high-quality 2D and 3D design deliverables for a high-speed rail infrastructure project in Sacramento, CA. The role focuses on ensuring design quality and consistency using advanced tools in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead computer-aided design & drafting (CADD) delivery for a high-speed rail program during design and construction.
• Champion Authority-mandated CADD standards, drive template and workspace configuration, and ensure drawing production aligns with the Digital Strategy, Standards, Manuals and industry best practices.
• Act as the principal liaison between design disciplines, Digital Engineering leadership, and the Authority, optimizing workflows, maintaining data integrity, and elevating overall drafting quality across the program.
• Define, implement, and enforce project-wide CADD standards including but not limited to layers / levels, naming, symbology, annotation, plotting.
• Align all CADD procedures with the Authority’s CADD Manual, Plan Preparation Manual, Digital Strategy, ISO 19650 guidance, and project digital goals.
• Build, deploy, and maintain workspaces, seed files, plot styles, and automated title-block tools for Bentley and Autodesk platforms.
• Oversee multidisciplinary drawing production schedules, ensuring timely submittals that meet the contract and metadata requirements.
• Develop and run automated drawing checkers; issue QA / QC reports and non-conformance logs.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement scripts / macros to automate repetitive drafting tasks, boosting accuracy and efficiency.
• Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and quick-reference guides for designers and drafters.
• Oversee file naming, versioning, backup, and archiving policies within ProjectWise and the Common Data Environment (CDE).
• Maintain continuous communication between the design disciplines, Digital Engineering leadership, Project Managers, and design teams to harmonize standards and resolve issues quickly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology, or related field.
• 5 to 10 years of progressive CADD management using Bentley Set of Software on large infrastructure or transportation projects.
• Prior linear rail experience preferred.
• Expert-level proficiency in Bentley MicroStation / OpenRail / OpenRoads / iTwin and Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Hands-on experience configuring ProjectWise datasources and managing CDE integrations.
• Knowledge of scripting / automation tools (VBA, Python, AutoLISP, Dynamo).
• Solid experience of ISO 19650 information-management principles and CADD / BIM / GIS interoperability.
• Excellent verbal / written communication, facilitation, and coaching abilities.
• Proven record of leading multidisciplinary drafting teams and negotiating with software vendors.
• Vacation : 22 days.
