EFI is seeking a Global HSE Manager based in our production plant in Almazora, Castellón, Spain.

Job Description:

Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Manager / Sr Manager

This role is responsible for the HSE global team and the definition and execution of the HSE strategy for the company. It involves implementing environmental health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and analyzing products, processes, and facilities to prevent injuries, property loss, and environmental impact.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute the HSE strategy for the company.
  • Manage the global HSE team.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws.
  • Improve health, safety, and environmental management practices.
  • Distribute necessary information and documentation to ensure legal compliance.
  • Promote safety culture at all company levels.
  • Prepare documentation for health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Draft risk assessments, emergency, and evacuation plans.
  • Update documentation to meet legal requirements.
  • Identify prevention and protection measures.
  • Conduct shop floor audits to ensure compliance and proper employee behavior.
  • Organize health, safety, and environmental training for employees.
  • Collaborate with external consultants for training and investigations.
  • Identify and manage non-compliance issues.
  • Organize mandatory courses for employees.
  • Coordinate with medical professionals for workplace health issues.
  • Verify compliance during the design of new stores or premises.
  • Work with authorities on insurance and incident management.
  • Define KPIs for HSE performance and analyze metrics such as accidents and absenteeism.
  • Develop procedures for HSE improvement.
  • Support foreign operations in compliance monitoring.
  • Report on HSE management to company leadership.
  • Implement ergonomic analyses where needed.
  • Maintain relations with official bodies and third-party HSE companies.
  • Participate in ESG actions related to HSE.
Job Requirements:
  • Engineer or bachelor’s degree with a Master in “Prevención en Riesgos Laborales”.
  • Related courses in Ergonomics, Safety, and Health are desirable.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar industry and global environment.
  • Knowledge of Spanish HSE regulations; experience with Italy, UK, Israel, Turkey, US is valuable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in chemical plants with toxic components is valuable.
  • Excellent communication skills in cross-functional and cross-cultural environments.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
