Job summary

Peek & Cloppenburg in Madrid invites a seasoned buyer to shape seasonal strategies for Men’s and Women’s fashion, creating assortments that balance trend with margins and a strong brand identity.

You will work with Design, Merchandising and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, negotiate with suppliers, and adapt buying decisions to evolving consumer demand. This role is based in Madrid’s design hub and offers the chance to influence a growing fashion brand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
• 4–6 years of buying experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Experience buying across multiple product groups.
• Strong commercial mindset and trend awareness.
• Agile, proactive, cross-functional collaborator across Men’s and Women’s categories.

Responsibilities

• Shape buying strategy across Men’s and Women’s and Women’s categories, with strong commercial focus and brand identity.
• Create compelling assortments reflecting trends, consumer needs, margins, and brand positioning.
• React to trends and market opportunities and translate insights into actionable buying decisions.
• Collaborate with Design, Merchandising and cross-functional teams to identify product opportunities and ensure timely products.
• Lead supplier negotiations to secure costs, margins, quality and delivery terms, and build partnerships.
• Monitor sales performance, manage product lifecycles and inventory, and optimize assortment based on sell-through.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

• Shape Our Buying Strategy: You develop and implement seasonal buying strategies across our Men's and Women's categories, ensuring a strong commercial focus and a consistent brand identity.
• Create Inspiring Assortments: You build compelling assortments across multiple product groups, reflecting the latest trends, consumer needs, and market opportunities while balancing commercial performance, margins, and brand positioning.
• React to Trends & Market Opportunities: You have a strong instinct for emerging trends and the ability to identify key commercial opportunities early. You translate market insights and sales performance into actionable buying decisions, adapting quickly to changing consumer demand and evolving trends.
• Collaborate Across Teams: You work closely with Design, Merchandising, and other crossfunctional teams to identify product opportunities, influence product development, and ensure the right products reach our customers at the right time.
• Drive Vendor Success: You lead supplier negotiations, secure competitive costs, margins, quality, and delivery terms, and build strong, strategic supplier partnerships.
• Optimize Performance: You monitor sales performance, manage product lifecycles and inventory, and continuously optimize the assortment based on sell-through, market developments, and emerging trends. You act decisively to capitalize on opportunities and respond quickly to business needs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Your Educational Bachbackground: You hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
• Your Experience: You bring 4–6 years of buying experience, ideally in a fast-paced, trend-driven retail environment. You have experience buying across multiple product groups and are comfortable managing different categories within Men's and Women's fashion.
• Your Strengths: You combine a strong commercial mindset with a passion for fashion and a keen eye for trends. You understand consumer behavior, recognize emerging opportunities, and know how to translate trends into commercially successful products.
• Your Way of Working: You are agile, proactive, and comfortable working across both Men's and Women's categories and multiple product groups. You can prioritize effectively, make quick decisions, and adapt buying strategies to respond to changing trends and business needs. You are also a confident negotiator who can balance product quality, cost, and margins while building strong supplier relationships.
