General Dynamics European Land Systems seeks a BMS Governance Officer to oversee the governance, deployment and continual improvement of the Business Management System across a multi-site organization. The role coordinates management-system documentation, cross-site assurance activities and digital reporting, delivering insights for management.

You will promote standardization, knowledge sharing and practical continuous improvement, support audits, and drive cross-site collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, manufacturing, quality, business management or related field.
• Experience in management systems, auditing, program coordination or continuous improvement in a complex industrial or regulated environment.
• Knowledge of recognized management-system standards and assessing process effectiveness and compliance.
• 5–7 years supporting cross-functional processes, audits, and improvement activities across multiple locations.
• Experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, rail or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience using Power BI, SharePoint, Forms, Lists or Power Automate to analyse data, dashboards or automate workflows.
• Fluent English; Spanish and/or German proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Govern governance of the BMS, including policies, processes and documentation.

The BMS Support Officer supports the governance, deployment and continual improvement of the GDELS Business Management System across an international, multi-site industrial organization. The role coordinates management-system documentation, cross-site assurance activities, digital reporting and improvement initiatives; supports sites and process owners; and translates audit and performance information into clear insights and recommendations for management. The position also promotes standardization, knowledge sharing and practical continuous improvement across the business.

The BMS department is comprised of Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety and Continuous improvement.

Business Management System Governance

• Maintain key elements of the GDELS Business Management System, including its governance framework, controlled information and supporting digital platform.
• Coordinate the drafting, review and update of policies, processes, procedures and supporting documentation.
• Assess new corporate, customer, regulatory and organizational requirements and support their effective integration into the Business Management System.
• Support risk analysis, root-cause analysis, structured problem solving and the implementation of sustainable corrective actions.

Cross-Site Audit and Assurance

• Participate in audits as part of an international audit team.
• Support the planning and coordination of the annual cross-site audit program.
• Prepare audit documentation, including agendas, opening presentations, audit roadmaps and closing reports.
• Monitor agreed audit actions with sites and support timely, effective closure.
• Analyze audit results to identify recurring issues, systemic risks, good practices and improvement opportunities.

Performance Reporting and Digital Tools

• Support the implementation, administration and improvement of digital solutions used for KPI reporting, continuous-improvement savings, environmental, health and safety reporting, document management, audits and action tracking.
• Prepare concise dashboards, reports and presentations on management-system performance, audit results, risks, actions and improvement progress.

Continuous Improvement, Training and Knowledge Sharing

• Coordinate knowledge-sharing activities and maintain clear records of participation, outcomes and agreed follow-up actions.
• Track the implementation of good practices identified through benchmarking and cross-site collaboration.
• Capture lessons learned and incorporate relevant knowledge into processes, standards and training materials.
• Develop and maintain training, guidance and awareness materials covering the Business Management System, quality, environment, health and safety, audit practices and continuous improvement.

External Forums and Stakeholder Engagement

• Support GDELS representation in relevant General Dynamics councils, committees, conferences and working groups related to manufacturing, quality, Lean and continuous improvement.
• Build effective working relationships with process owners, functional teams and site representatives across a matrix, multi-country organization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree, technical qualification or equivalent professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality, business management, occupational health and safety, environmental management or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in management systems, quality, auditing, program coordination or continuous improvement within a complex industrial or regulated environment.
• Working knowledge of recognized management-system standards and experience assessing process effectiveness and compliance.
• Experience 5-7 years supporting or coordinating cross-functional processes, audits, management reviews or improvement activities across multiple functions or locations.
• Experience in defence, aerospace, automotive, rail, heavy equipment or another regulated, high-complexity manufacturing environment.
• Experience using Power BI, SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, Lists or Power Automate to analyse data, develop dashboards or automate workflows.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish and/or German.
• Knowledge of Green House Gas reporting.

COMPETENCIES & KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of Lean, Lean Six Sigma, structured problem solving, risk management and corrective-action methodologies.
• Internal or lead auditor qualification for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or another relevant management-system standard.
• Ability to analyse information, identify risks and recurring issues, and communicate clear findings and practical recommendations.
• Strong organisational, facilitation and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities independently.
• Ability to collaborate and influence effectively in a matrix, multi-country organisation without relying on direct line authority.
• Fluent English, with the ability to prepare clear professional reports and presentations.
