We are hiring for a Business Development Manager . This exciting opportunity will cover Spain & Portugal. The person is responsible for maintaining existing customers as well as developing new and potential customers in the assigned territory. They will develop and maintain positive customer relationships by providing excellent customer service and industry-leading products at competitive prices.

Responsibilities include :

  • Developing detailed profiles of assigned markets and sub-segments in collaboration with the relevant territory Business Development Director.
  • Leveraging all available tools, especially social media, along with insights, reports, publications, and market contacts to identify opportunities.
  • Liaising with product management, R&D, and quality functions to develop new projects and opportunities.
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers.
  • Traveling to meet customers in person to promote new products, strengthen relationships, address queries, and showcase our full product portfolio.
  • Developing and executing customer strategies and activation plans.
  • Preparing sales quotes, negotiating prices, and providing business solutions to close sales effectively.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the product portfolio and applications.
  • Staying updated on industry news and trends through participation in events, trade shows, seminars, memberships, and subscriptions.
  • Collaborating with customer service and internal teams on customer-related inquiries.
  • Monitoring financial and operational performance using internal data, including volume and profitability metrics.
  • Working with customers to develop accurate forecasts and presenting these internally to support financial and supply chain planning.

Skills required :

  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Food / Nutrition Science, Sales & Marketing, or a related technical field.
  • Experience managing an established customer base in the FMCG / Food Industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a drive to grow new business.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on achieving team and organizational goals.
  • Teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional interaction with all levels of personnel, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary.

Language, Computer & Numeracy Skills :

  • Excellent verbal and written skills in Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency in French is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with LinkedIn and social media platforms.
