THE ROLE

To build and maintain relationships with new and existing advisers, explaining our proposition and encouraging new business opportunities. Represent the Smart proposition in a way that demonstrates Smart as a provider of choice to encourage new business and meet our targets.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage an allocated portfolio of advisers (Accountants, IFA’s, payroll service providers), focusing on fact-finding to build and develop relationships, acting as the point of contact to maintain and develop the relationship for incremental, new business and transfers from other providers.
  2. Contact all allocated new advisers to ensure they understand our proposition and systems and establish potential for further development of the relationship.
  3. React quickly to new adviser/new direct company enquiries via the New Business Helpline or email.
  4. Understand our proposition and Workplace Pensions/AE legislation and be able to clearly communicate this to advisers and direct employers as part of the relationship development and supporting the acquisition of new business.
  5. Work closely with the wider business development team and other colleagues to ensure opportunities are identified and progressed.
  6. Maintain up-to-date records on Salesforce & CRM where appropriate, detailing adviser contact and activity and fully recording all new opportunities.
  7. Use Salesforce to maintain regular communication and updates to our proposition for your portfolio.
  8. Proactively contact potential new leads via Salesforce communication and subsequent telephone contact with the intention of converting to new advisers/new business.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every single one of these criteria – having a ‘can do’ attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:

  1. Proven customer relationship management experience, demonstrating business creation and retention.
  2. Confident in giving support & guidance over the telephone and, if required, online demonstrations of the Smart systems.
  3. Accepts and tackles demanding goals and new business targets.
  4. Professional and accountable for actions.
  5. Good attention to detail required to ensure the correct information is maintained on all systems.
  6. Flexible approach to change and the ability to absorb information on new products, services, and processes.
  7. The ability to use Google packages, Google documents/sheets & comfortable with other required systems such as Salesforce & Smart CR system.
