ETG is a diversified multinational trading company with presence in 44 countries, more than 7,000 employees, and trading more than 80 different commodities. Established in Spain for its commodities vertical (Grains & Coffee), the company is growing quickly, with an entrepreneurial spirit but backed by a big international corporation. ETG is currently looking for a Business Controller. This is a full-time role based in Madrid (Pozuelo de Alarcón) and will support and report directly to the CFO for the Global Coffee Platform.
Responsibilities
Responsible for trading position. Able to handle physical long and short books.
Responsible for daily trading P&L.
Bridge Global Trading – Operations - Finance.
Liase with origin/destination desks, execution, and trade finance to elaborate a daily P&L.
Understanding the business and supporting the financial manager with periodic reports (monthly, weekly, daily).
Ad-hoc reporting.
Support financial team with month-end closings.
Required Skills
Educated to degree level in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or any other related field.
At least 7 years’ experience in Trading, Controlling, or a similar position.
Previous experience in agro-commodities, preferably coffee, but not mandatory.
Fluent in English and Spanish.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are mandatory.
Able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail are assets.
Active listening, empathy, and high communication skills are key to understanding the business.
Proactivity and analytical profile are highly valued skills for continuing to grow within the company.
Availability to travel.
